Doris is a Certified Level 3 Curling Coach with more than 30 years of experience developing athletes, teams, and coaching programs in Canada and internationally. Head Coach of the Cloverdale Curling Club since 2015, she helps young curlers build skill, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong enjoyment of the sport.
Her experience spans beginner and recreational youth programs through elite international competition, including the World Women’s Curling Championships, World Junior Curling Championships, and World Winter Universiade. She has also supported high-performance programs in South Korea, Denmark, Germany, Japan, and China, and continues to contribute to BC youth development as a former Curl BC regional coach and author of the 20 Weeks Manual.
In 2013, Doris founded Shanghai’s first curling program, introducing the sport to more than 25,000 students and creating a university varsity program for 50 young athletes. Within six weeks, several teams competed nationally, with one women’s team earning the opportunity to represent China at the World University Games. Career highlights include guiding Japan’s national women’s team to international gold medals and leading a Canadian junior men’s team to a BC provincial championship.
